Delle Venezie DOC appellation is the result of the history and the culture of women and men who have built day by day the great "Triveneto vineyard". Pinot grigio production system is today based on a young, modern, environmentally friendly vinegrowing system that looks towards quality productions, recognized and able to ensure that these wines really represent those expressed values to the final consumer. Since its first harvest in 2017, the entire Pinot grigio production from the administrative territories of Trentino, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia is today certificated as DOC. This appellation today is the largest Pinot grigio area in the world and homeland where 85% of the Italian production of this wine is today concentrated.
A complex and versatile grape variety, the Pinot grigio vine was found in the Venetian area at the end of the 1800's, an extremely favorable and vocated area. The wines here produced present different nuances of scents and flavors and, thanks to specific climatic conditions and the unique characteristics, have easily helped to conquer all over the world consumers: Pinot grigio today represents the main exported Italian grape variety and the fourth one cultivated in Italy. Thanks to the new DOC delle Venezie, yields per hectare have been reduced to ensure a new level of qualitative excellence in this great Italian wine.
To Protect, to strenghten and to promote Pinot grigio: these are the core goals of the newly created Consortium delle Venezie
DOC. In order to do this, at the
end of the entire production chain certification, each delle Venezie DOC bottle passes through professional oenologists' tasting commissions and finally receives the Italian government seal as maximum expression of a certified quality wine.
